This course provides 7 hours of continued education in property ownership and real estate markets for appraisal professionals. Topics include property ownership, interests, and rights, which dives into types of estates and forms of ownership along with property rights and public and private restrictions to ownership rights. This course also covers real estate markets and analysis including economic characteristics and analyzing supply and demand.
This course provides 7 hours of continued education instruction in appraisal economics and value. Topics include economic trends, cycles, factors of value, and indicators along with the principles of real estate marketability. This course also dives into market, insurable, use, and investment value, just to name a few. To wrap this course up, influence on property value including physical, geographic, economic, governmental, and social forces is also covered.
This course provides 6 hours of continued education instruction in characteristics that influence appraisal. Topics include land and site characteristics and their valuations. This course also dives into architectural styles and construction types including site improvements, placement, styles, size, number, and storage. To wrap up this course, location and neighborhood characteristics and factors influencing property values are also covered.
This course provides three hours of instruction in Florida appraisal laws and regulations, which satisfies a portion of the continued education needed for licensure in the state. Topics include The Appraisal Foundation, FIRREA, and federal components to set up the state specific subjects. Then the course dives into the Appraisal Subcommittee, the establishment of the Appraisal Foundation, and the role of the Appraiser Qualifications Board and Appraisal Standards Board in unison with Florida requirements for licensure and ethical appraisal practice. To wrap up this course, you will learn about the duties of the Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board, Florida appraiser classifications, laws, and rules of professional conduct.
This course does not meet the 2026 Real Property Qualification Criteria (Criteria) required education on valuation bias and fair housing laws and regulations.
The 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course focuses on the requirements for ethical behavior and competent performance by appraisers that are set forth in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). All required manuals from The Appraisal Foundation are included in your course.
This course is offered via live online (synchronous meeting) delivery. Once enrolled, you can select upcoming classes to attend. Classes are offered weekly in two 3.5-hour sessions (Part A and Part B). They must be taken in order but you can select the schedule options that work best for you. Florida State Requirement Details for Appraiser Continuing Education
Renewal Date: Every 2 years, 11/30 of even-numbered years
Hours Required by the State: 30 hours
- 7-hour USPAP Update Course
- 3 hours update to Florida law and rules
- 20 hours of approved continuing education
Beginning January 1, 2026, a Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations course will be required for Continuing Education.
